Chaiyaphum Dok Krachiao Blooming Festival 2018

Every year from June to August, in the first few days of the rainy season The Siam Tulip or as they say in Thailand Dok Krachiao come into full bloom these white and purple flowers are totally draped over the lands of Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Thep Sathit district and Sai Thong National Park in Nong Bua Ra Haew district during these months. More than anything these places become the finest attraction for the tourists in town.

So for last a few years the Chaiyaphum province in association with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) arranges a variety of interesting and enjoyable activities annually, these activities include exploring the lands of at Pa Hin Ngam National Park and Sai Thong National Park relishing in fields of rose-tinted Krachiao flowers and the Rock Garden along with different live music performances. These activities are named Chaiyaphum Dok Krachiao Blooming Festival. People also hike in these two parks and enjoy the purchase the different products on sale during the festival.
This time around TAT and Chaiyaphum province have planned to the congregation the Krachiao Blooming Festival 2018 for four months, starting from 1st of June to the 30th of September, at Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Thep Sathit district and Sai Thong National Park in Nong Bua Ra Haew district.
Pa Hin Ngam National Park covers a vast area and is popular for its abundance of strangely shaped rocks. There are plenty of stones of different shapes and sizes available at this park and although a bit weather-beaten they have been the tourist’s attraction from million from years. People fascinate themselves with the outlandish shaped stones and collect them.

During the rainy season after the rain washes the land of Pa Hin Ngam National Park the different varieties of Siam Tulip flowers that had been rooted deep in the ground for years finally breaths in the fresh air and are seen in full as far as the eyes can see beautifying the park with their pink and purple shades. There are even meadows in some areas of the park where these Siam Tulips can be seen in large quantity. These beautiful pink-white flowers provide a delightful view to all the tourist. Especially at the time of the dawn, when the surface of the earth baths in col fog spreading over the ground enriching the view and making it all the more mesmerizing. Other than Krachiao flowers, there is more to Pa Hin Ngam National Park that has helped in gaining its popularity including ‘Sut Phaendin’, a vertical cliff viewing platform that joins the Northeast to the Central Region, and a pair of medium-sized waterfalls namely Namtok Thep Prathan and Namtok Thep Phanom.

On the other hand Sai Thong National Park is well-known for its excellent view of Sai Thong Waterfall. The Sai Thong Waterfall fall from a height of about 100 meters cascading down from the rocks at the top to the bottom.
And lastly, Chaiyaphum province is also famous for its white hill, Mor Hin Khao also known as “the Stonehenge in Thailand, located in a wide field of Phu Laen Kha National Park in Tah Hin Ngom sub-district. The mountain is filled with spellbinding sculptured stones.
